Buna n Gasket

Buna n Gasket, also known as Buna Nitrile Seals, Nitrile Gasket and Buna n Seal, is made of elastomeric buna n material, which has excellent oil resistance, especially for petroleum base oils and non-polar solvents. Therefore, Buna n Gasket has wide range of application in oil seal, such as nitrile rubber sheet, Buna n O Ring, NBR Grommet, Nitrile hose gasket, etc.

Buna n Gasket usually are manufactured different shapes accommodating sealing applications. There are usually various compression methods, rubber compression molding, extrusion molding and Die cutting.

Buna n Gasket Properties 

Excellent Oil Resistence: 

Superior oil resistance to petroleum base oils and non-polar solvents but inferior resistance to polar oils and polar solvents.

As ropenenitrile content is from low to high, the oil resistance is better while the cold resistance is lower.

Good compatibility with polar materials (e.g., PVC, POM, Nylon, etc). It can be made into rubber plastic materials.

High tensile strength and wear resistance, can be used for oil sealing production

Working temperature: -20℃~120℃. Low-temperature resistant NBR: below -50℃.

Good anti-static property

Good Air tightness

Strong adhesion

Note: poor resistance to ozone, sunlight & weather, not recommend for outside applications. 

Buna n Gasket compared with other Rubber Material

Buna n Gasket has excellent oil resistance during rubber materials. However, compared with other rubber materials, Buna n nitrile gasket has some inferior properties. For example,EPDM Gasket withstands excellent water & air resistance,insulation as well. Neoprene Gasket bears good wear resistance, etc.Therefore, The manufactures usually choose suitable rubber materials based on different properties and applications.
