Why LSR

Liquid silicone rubber arrives as a two part, low viscosity system that is metered, mixed and injected in a closed loop. Nothing is weighed by hand and nothing is exposed to the room, so batch to batch variation is small and the process suits medical and food contact work.

Cure is fast and the material flows into very fine detail, which makes LSR the right choice for thin membranes, micro valves, soft touch overmoulds and any part where flash on a sealing face is unacceptable.

How we run it

• Automated dosing, vacuum assisted clamping and cold runner tooling. Cold runners keep material waste close to zero on high cavitation tools, which is where most of the unit cost sits at volume.
• Our LSR cells sit inside a clean room, with post curing ovens dedicated separately to medical grade and food grade product so that lines never cross.
• Demoulding is automated on high volume tools. That removes the operator handling that causes most cosmetic rejects on clear and translucent parts.

• Duckbill, umbrella and cross slit valves for resuscitators and breast pumps.
• Full face and nasal masks, ventilation bags and patient interface seals.
• Baby nipples, pacifiers and soothers in medical grade transparent LSR.
• Micro diaphragms and membranes below 0.3 mm wall thickness.
